His Feet!!!
If my love of Ty's hands is strange, my obsession with his feet is worse! First of all, they are so, so tiny, in proportion to his body. At 18 months, he barely measures a size 3 infant shoe...the size typically worn by babies ages 6-9 months. It's a wonder that he's able to balance on them at all! Smaller feet can be a characteristic in some people with Down Syndrome, and happens to be one that Ty-guy rocks!
What I really love about them is their shape. His toes form a nearly perfect 90 degree angle on either size, making his feet appear to be tiny rectangles. Each toe is approximately the same size (except for his big toe, of course), so they align perfectly. And like his hands, his feet are also padded in soft, squishy baby fat. Trying to squeeze his feet into a pair of shoes requires pushing the foot down, while simultaneously poking the pudge to fit underneath the top of the shoe. Now that he wears shoes daily, we've got a system going, but it took some careful maneuvering at first!
His little tootsies are incredibly ticklish, too. A little tickle or kiss on the bottom of his foot will send him squealing and laughing...which of course leads to many more tickles and kisses...it's an endless game! What's really impressive though, is that Ty can eat his feet...without bending his knee! Gotta love those flexible joints! It's always a sure crowd pleaser when you are walking through the grocery store with your son doing a full split in the shopping cart!

Ty's feet sound like Miss K's feet. She is 10 months and size 2 infant shoes are still a bit big on her. Isn't it crazy how they can grab their feet and gnaw on their toes like that?
