Ty's Family
Ty is definitely the center of attention in his immediate family. He is the first grandchild and nephew on both sides, and is clearly the favorite one, too! :-) When you find out that your child has Down Syndrome, you just want your son to be treated like any other baby - to be loved, spoiled, and obsessed over. You want those closest to him to see him as a little boy, rather than a little boy with Down Syndrome. Thank goodness our families got the memo without us having to say a word! From the second that our families met Ty, they welcomed him with open arms and loved him more than anything in the world. It's obvious in the countless pictures of Ty hanging in their homes, the frequent offers to babysit, and the permanent kisses that he wears on his cheeks.
So here is a little "thank you" to all of Ty's family members who continue to be so supportive and encouraging, 19 months later!
