I think we're just about ready to say goodbye to 2012! While bringing our second son into the world was the absolute highlight of our year, we've had a few challenges to tackle as well, and I think it's time for a fresh start!
2013 is going to bring a lot of firsts and new starts for our family. Next week, I will begin a two year Master's degree program - the thought of being a full-time student again, in addition to work, and being a full-time mom and wife is a little daunting, but I'm looking forward to the challenge! With a little focus and motivation, Eric will also be going after a new degree and a new career path, as well.
As for Ty, he'll be embarking on his journey to begin preschool in a very short 2 1/2 months. The very thought of my tiny little guy walking into that big building and being a student brings me to tears, but I know he's very ready, and is going to absolutely love it.
And Brady...well, being a baby has it's perks, and there aren't very many life-changes for an infant, except for the obvious ones of eating solid foods, learning to walk, and saying his first words. Every milestone he reaches amazes me, just as much as they did with his brother, and I know his next year is going to be a whirlwind of firsts!
I kind of hate resolutions. The pressure to do something you kind of don't want to do (hence the reason you didn't do it in the first place), is just not a great way to kick off a year. Instead, I have a few goals I hope we will accomplish in the next 12 months. Potty training our stubborn toddler is high on the list, and is a non-negotiable! We are hopeful to be rid of our house in Virginia in the next month or two, which will be a major check mark on the list! Eric and I both turn 30 and celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary in 2013, and have been planning a celebration trip to Prince Edward Island...that is one goal on the list that I intend to see through! Just to name a few! Having these goals is a hopeful view of the year to come, and will give 2013 purpose. I am looking forward to taking it on!
I'll end with a few highlights of 2012....
 |
| All of our beach days were awesome. Ty is a beach bum at heart! |
 |
| Our trips to the park this summer were a blast, too. Lots of smiles! |
 |
| Who is this girl!? |
 |
| The Momnie Family 2.0 was born. This was a happy morning! |
 |
All of the "brother" moments top the list, though.
Watching our boys together is most definitely the highlight of our year!
Happy New Year!!! |
